Bio
Chenghui Su, DO, was an Air Force flight surgeon with more than 10 years of clinical experience in medicine before joining the UCLA psychiatry residency program and subsequently the addiction psychiatry fellowship at New York University.
He specializes in addiction, treatment-resistant mood disorder, OCD/Tourette syndrome, gender and sexual minority stress, and PTSD and is fluent in Mandarin.
Su was a systems-based healthcare learning facilitator at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and an addiction consult lecturer for Charles R. Drew University Internal Medicine Residency.
He was a co-investigator in research on the feasibility and acceptability of Risperidone for the prevention of the recurrence of methamphetamine-associated psychosis at the VA Greater Los Angeles. He was also involved in Screening and Treatment for Anxiety and Depression (STAND) as part of the Depression Grand Challenge at UCLA.
Su was selected as a diversity leadership fellow and member of the addiction council with the American Psychiatric Association. He received the Medical Education and Research Foundation Traditional Scholarship, the John Renner Award from the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and the Diversity Scholarship from the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
