Bio
Samuel E. Vaughn, MD, PhD, is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and Assistant Professor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the University of Cincinnati. With a dual doctorate in Medicine and Immunobiology from the University of Cincinnati’s Medical Scientist Training Program, Vaughn brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and research acumen to his work. He currently serves as Medical Director for both the Emergency Psychiatry and Psychiatry Consult Liaison teams at Cincinnati Children’s overseeing critical mental health services for patient in both the emergency room and those hospitalized for medical concerns. His leadership extends to quality improvement initiatives focused on equitable care and emergency department coordination.
Vaughn has a strong interest in education. He is actively involved in mentoring through the Train New Trainers CAP Fellowship at UC Irvine and serves as Associate Program Director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s. His work bridges clinical care, academic leadership and translational research, with a strong commitment to improving mental health outcomes for youth.
